- Wife, mother, sister, daughter, niece, aunt, friend, emotional wreck at times (you know what I mean), member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I fell in love and married Dereck in 1998 while we were attending the BYU. Dereck grew up on a cattle ranch in Mountain View, Alberta, Canada. I am mostly Utahn with a pinch of Californian, Texan, and Idahoan. We have two daughters: Kiara is 3 1/2 and Kate is just barely 2. I am a full-time mother and Dereck is a full-time everything. He is currently working on his MBA at the University of Utah (along with everything else).
